Zebra ZAKL017 at Klapperkop
ZAKL017 is a boldly striped zebra that doesn’t have much in the way of shadow stripes. One of the identifying features, on the left-hand side of its body, are the markings below the centre of its back. The stripes on the left shoulder are also useful for identification.
This zebra was first recorded in 2025 and is a member of Charlie herd. They are often found in the area below the water tower.
Klapperkop does not appear to be an ideal location for zebras but the small numbers that are present appear to flourish. The zebras are the biggest animal found in this small reserve.
