Zebra NAET00002 at Etosha
This smart looking Plains Zebra looks like a stallion to me. It seems to have some attitude and is alert while the rest of the family group are grazing.
What makes the stripes on this individual unique? Let’s have a look.
Although they are not bold it does have shadow stripes on the rear half of its body. Its legs have a significant number of stripes and I notice a couple of splits and joins that definitely aid identification.
There isn’t too much of interest on its back and rump. There is a pattern on its shoulder which help as well as a half-stripe or two on its neck. There is an interesting pattern on the face, just below and forward from its eye.
