Zebra NAET00001 at Etosha
At first you wouldn’t consider Etosha a great place to live but they are quite successful despite the harsh conditions.
This Plains Zebra has nice shadow stripes and an interesting pattern on its shoulder. Another identification feature is the two “long Y’s.” These are the pair of stripes towards the centre of the animals back. Two stripes join at the top and the tails of the Y’s run all the way down to its belly.
I notice too that its front left leg has no stripes at all lower down. Altogether these features make for an easy zebra to identify.
